1932 Taylor E-2 Cub

Designed by C. G. Taylor and manufactured by the Taylor Aircraft Company of Bradford, Pa., the E-2 spawned perhaps the most significant civil trainer and sport airplane of all time, the Piper J-3 Cub. William T. Piper formed a partnership with Taylor in the early 1930s and eventually bought the company's assets for $600. Although overshadowed and almost forgotten, the E-2 taught many pilots to fly during the depression years. This aircraft was number 33 off the assembly line and sold new for $1,500. At one time the 50 hp Cub sold for as low as $995. Taylor's signature is in its logbook. This plane has been restored to like-new condition.
